Fatal accident in Arlington claimed the life of a female pedestrian
A deadly accident occurred in Arlington when a woman who was attempting to cross New York Avenue was struck by a vehicle.
Officers from Arlington police were sent to the 2200 block of New York Avenue after receiving a report of an accident.
Reportedly, a woman in her 40s was hit by a southbound Ford Expedition while crossing New York Avenue.
According to the police report, the woman was not crossing the street at a designated crosswalk. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries, where she died later.
Police said the driver of the Ford Expedition remained at the site of the accident and cooperated in the investigation. The motorist will not be considered accountable for the incident.
