Fort Worth police arrested the suspect responsible for the last month’s deadly crash on I-20, report

Fort Worth, Texas – Fort Worth Police Department confirmed they arrested the suspect wanted for the deadly crash that happened last month on I-20.

According to the incident report, the 19-year-old Kyree Shaundi was the victim in the March 15 crash, while two other people suffered injuries. Shaundi died as a result of the crash on I-20 when a speeding vehicle crashed into the back of an SUV causing it to burst into flames.

The teenager and two other people were going home that day from Six Flags. The driver of the vehicle that crashed into the victim’s SUV fled the scene after the crash and was at-large for weeks up until this week when the local authorities finally arrested and charged him.

The police confirmed the driver, identified as the 22-year-old Bryce Abernathy, was arrested and charged for the fatal incident earlier this week. The investigation has shown that he was driving recklessly at 157 miles an hour when he crashed into the back of an SUV, which is more than twice the speed limit.

According to police, Abernathy was booked into the Tarrant County jail Wednesday, facing two counts of aggravated assault and one count of manslaughter. But records show he bonded out on Thursday.

It’s still unclear the condition of the other two injured passengers. Police didn’t release any further information.
