The nonprofit Operation Warm donated shoes to Fort Worth Elementary School helping those in need to start the year with new shoes

Fort Worth, Texas – Nearly 200 elementary school students in one Fort Worth school will get new shoes with the start of the year.

According to multiple reports, the nonprofit Operation Warm donated nearly 200 pair of shoes helping those in need.

Volunteers distributed approximately 200 new shoes to second-grade students at Kirkpatrick Elementary School in Fort Worth Tuesday morning.

In addition to the initial donation, the nonprofit also donated socks for fourth and fifth-grade students. The nonprofit said they will also donate extra pair of shoes to a nearby campus.

Operation Warm decided to donate shoes and socks to Kirkpatrick Elementary students based on the campus demographics and needs.

“I definitely think it helps with their self-confidence, definitely think it focuses on the whole child. Meeting those basic needs is super important so students can come to campus and focus on their academics,” said Kirkpatrick Elementary Principal, Nancy Atkinson.

Operation Warm is a national nonprofit that partners with the community to manufacture brand-new, high-quality coats and shoes for children in need.
