Man strangled his fiancé to death with a handmade tool because “he had been angry” on her with days, slept next to her dead body

When people are looking for a life partner, they are looking for a stable person, a person they can rely on forever. Although it takes years for some people until they find the right person to spend the rest of their lives with, making the right choice is essential regardless of the fact if they are in their 20s or 50s.

A woman in her 60s, the victim in today’s case, apparently made the wrong choice when she decided to spend her life with the man who later strangled her to death in an incident that took place earlier this month, even before they got married.

According to the police report, the 67-year-old Jeanine B. of Florida, was discovered dead in her mini-van in a parking lot, and her 56-year-old fiancé Michael D. was arrested in connection to the murder.

As a former handyman, Michael used his skills and made a tool out of rope with handles on both sides, which he later used to strangle Jeanine.

But, the parking lot was not the initial crime scene. She was murdered by her fiancé one day before her body was driven to the parking lot. Michael told the Walmart store manager that he had an emergency involving his fiancée in the parking lot and asked him to call 911.

Police officers arrived at the scene and found the unresponsive body of Jeanine seated in the passenger seat of the vehicle. They noticed she had ligature marks and a deep cut on her neck.

Michael was next to the vehicle when the cops arrived and they started questioning him. Suspicions arose among the officers because Michael provided “cryptic accounts” on Jeanine’s whereabouts before she was located in the parking lot.

He was taken to a police station for further questioning and suddenly the death investigation turned into murder investigation. Under interrogation pressure, Michael confessed everything.

According to investigation report, Michael told officers he had been angry at Jeanine and had been contemplating killing her for several days before her death. Michael said he strangled Jeanine to death with a tool of rope that he made himself while she was sitting in a kitchen chair in their house.

He then carried her body to the bedroom, changed her clothes and slept beside her in their bed. After waking up in the early morning hours, he went through a series of complex efforts to conceal the crime.

Michael put his bicycle inside his van and drove to the nearby Walmart store. Then he rode his bicycle back home and drove Jeanine’s mini-van to the same Walmart’s parking lot, with Jeanine’s body on the passenger seat.

Then he got off the mini-van, went to his vehicle, drove it to a Dollar Tree parking lot, and finally walked back to the Walmart store and asked the manager to call 911.

Walmart’ surveillance footage matched the details of the murder that Michael told authorities.

Michael has been charged with premediated murder.

A court date is set for November 29.
